A Small Magickal Garden

Summer is evolving into Autumn in the Northern Hemisphere.  It is almost harvest time and the moon is new. Twinkling lights flutter over the garden wall. It’s the faerie folk come to celebrate the season.

This is a garden for a small space. The apple tree is Espalier (horticultural and ancient agricultural practice of controlling woody plant growth by pruning and tying branches so that they grow in relatively flat planes, frequently in formal patterns, against a structure such as a wall, fence, or trellis).

Some Plant Lore from left to right with some of their magickal uses:
The Apple is ruled by Venus and the element of water. It is symbol of immortality and knowledge; used in love and healing spells.

Rosemary is ruled by the sun and element of fire. It used to purify and cleanse, and to rid a place of negativity. Some say it is grown to attract elves.

Mint is ruled by Mercury and the element of air. It used in healing potions, travel and prosperity spells and to call good spirits.

Vervain is ruled by Venus and the element of earth. It is a common element in love mixtures and protective spells, as well as prosperity spells.

Lavender is ruled by Mercury and the element of air. It used in love spells and sachets,to induce sleep and rest and to dispel depression.

Thistle is ruled by Mars and the element of fire. It is used to promote strength and energy, used in healing spells and to drive away melancholy.

Yarrow is ruled by Venus and the element of water. It is used in love spells and to improve psychic powers and to dispel negativity.

Violet is ruled by Venus and the element of water. It is used in protection spells and to bring changes in luck, love and fortune.

All of the above are Old World Plants. The Pumpkin, native to North America, is carved into jack-o-lanterns to ward off demons.
