Ever ran out of gas in your vehicle?
This is my car.  It’s great on gas and needs no insurance!

Which are better: black or green olives?
Hmmm, I don’t know.  I love all olives.

If you were a great explorer, what would you explore?
I have not been to India, Turkey or China.

Quotes List: At least three of your favorite quotes?
I have not failed. I’ve just found 10,000 ways that won’t work. Thomas Edison
bulb(Said this to myself many times!)

Better to be silent and be thought a fool than to open one’s mouth and remove all doubt. (I’m not sure who said this first but it’s excellent advice!)

Out, damned spot! Out, I say!  Lady Macbeth.  (Usefully applies to various circumstances.)

Share Your World – 20th February 2017 -Week 8

Here are my answers to Cee’s Share Your Word 2017    20th February

When you cut something with scissors, do you move your jaw (as if you were about to chew)?
I don’t think so. Next time I use a scissors I will set up a mirror just to be sure 😉

Do you chew your pens and pencils?
If they were chocolate I would.  But regular ones? No.

Are you a collector of anything?  If so what?
If you visited me you might think I collect everything!  Shells, souveniers, baskets, anything to do with the ocean, teapots….And of course, pigs!
These are some of the pigs that live in my kitchen.

What size is your bed?
Full size.  I have a antique cast iron headboard/footboard that will only fit the full size. A larger bed would not fit in my bedroom.

Yemaya, Ocean Goddess

Yemaya, Mother of All Living Things

Yemaya Ocean Goddess Fine Art Print

Yemaya is an Ocean Goddess, the Mother of All Living Things and protector of women from the Yoruba and Santeria traditions. She is also a fertility goddess and protector of fisherman. Without water there is no life and she is revered as the feminine principal of creation.

I became acquainted with Yemaya several years ago during a visit to a very small island in the Caribbean.  The island was practically deserted and I had a gorgeous beach all to myself.  A perfect place for meditation as I had brought several worries from home on the trip with me.  I could not sit still and as I waded into the crystal clear water it suddenly felt like time stood still.  There was nothing but the beautiful ocean, sunshine and blue sky. I was enveloped by a warm and welcoming presence. I had a vision of Yemaya and she was telling me I could achieve calm and peace, to slow down and put my mind at ease. I performed a healing ritual and felt very free.  I tried several times in the ensuing years to create an image of her.  But it wasn’t until two years ago that I was able to do so.  Her calming presence has helped me many times.

About Druid Tree Lore and Celtic Lunar Astrology
People have been marking the passage of time by the phases of the moon for millennia. Although it is impossible to say for certain because the lore and traditions were not written, many historians believe that both the Celts and Druids used a 13 month lunar calendar.  The months and symbols differ from the solar calendar with which most of us are familiar. Druidic horoscopes are often mentioned in legends.

Trees have long been a source of sacred folklore with each chosen to represent the months and having its own magickal properties. The Ogham symbols may have been devised by ancient Druids. As several of the symbols refer to trees, the ogham alphabet is often called the Tree Alphabet. These symbols are included next to the tree names which are shown in both English and Old Irish. The animal symbols are my interpretation based on various sources. The ruling planets of each sign are also noted.  The information provided here is an introduction to the wealth of knowledge concerning Druid teachings and Celtic lore.

Do you sleep with your sheets tucked in or out?
Depends on the season.  In winter, the sheet covering my feet is tucked in and the sides are not.  In summer, not tucked in anywhere.

Have you stolen a street sign before?
No, because the sign said not to 😉

Do you cut out coupons but then never use them?
Usually the coupons are for junk food so I don’t bother with those.  It seems that when I cut ones I think I will use, I forget they are in my wallet.

Do you have freckles?
Yes, a few.

Here are my answers to Cee’s Share Your World 2017, 6th Feburary edition

Regarding your fridge, is it organized or a mess inside?
My fridge is not that big so I try to keep everything in the same place.  Nothing worse than finding a container hosting a science experiment in there when looking for something.
Earlier today I heard a muffled commotion from the kitchen.  It seems when Henri saw the photo of the cat in the fridge, he decided he could do the same.  Unfortunately he got stuck inside and caught red-handed with purloined chocolate.

Do you prefer your food separated or mixed together?
Definitely separate! I do not understand those towers of food that are so popular. I prefer to taste each item by itself. And nothing turns me off faster than warm salad greens.  Or items that are supposed to be crispy and end up soggy from an overabundance of gravy.

Do you prefer reading coffee table books (picture), biographies, fiction, non-fiction, educational?
I prefer fiction as reality is highly overrated.

Close your eyes. Listen to your body. What part of your body is seeking attention? What is it telling you?
My posterior is telling me back away from the computer and go do some exercise!

The Winter Faerie

The Winter Faerie

Winter Fairy Magickal Fantasy Art Print

Once upon a Winter’s night

Underneath a full moon bright

The Winter Faerie did appear

Followed by her snow white deer

She scattered snowflakes with her hand

All across the sleeping land

From underneath an ice-covered tree

A curious rabbit woke up to see

A snow globe world of magick light

Underneath a full moon bright.
