I often have strange or comical dreams before waking. In this morning’s dream I was on a stage with several other people sitting on small wooden chairs. The stage curtains were royal blue with gold trim. We were gathered to recite limericks that we made up on the spot. As I have only written one limerick to date, I was rather nervous when it came to be my turn. I had no trouble coming up with the first two lines several times but could not complete a single limerick. I was quite embarrassed and sat down.
Immediately upon waking the following came to mind:
There was a great lady from Leeds
Who was known for her charitable deeds
She went door-to-door
To collect alms for the poor
To help pay for some of their needs.
I have no idea if this is a limerick I actually wrote or one I read. So if anyone knows, please let me know π
Maybe the dream was to remind me to donate to charity π
Great limerick mermaid. I haven’t heard it before. So cool Sweetheart πππ

I once tried to write a Limmerick
But my muse was feeling quite anemic
So I turned on the juice
And the let words loose
That seemed to do the trick

My Dad loved limericks. Unfortunately, the only ones of his I can remember are a bit on the bawdy side. π

Such generous and kind words in your limerick, Morgaine! Iβd probably have a dark and morose one. π₯ Loved your rhyme!

Thank you so much, Rose!. I have a rather dark side that presents itself on occasion; but I can’t rhyme at will π
