I was washing the lunch dishes when I heard singing coming from the back garden.
I looked out the window and saw six gnomes valiantly rolling a log towards the back door. Sometime later, Henri finally brought it inside.

“Madame, nous vous présentons le Yule Log!”
“It’s perfect for our Winter Solstice celebration! Thank you so much!” (I guess they forgot I do not have a fireplace.) After all their hard work, I made a large pot of hot chocolate for everyone. 🙂
Hahaha funny sweetheart.
If you don’t have a fireplace, how does Santa get in?

Hot Chocolate; the Gnomes know how much you love their company and they want to get away from the rain and winter cold. Sitting around the Yule log singing, you will have to wait until Spring before they return to their garden duties. What are they singing?

Mostly gnomish folk songs with a bit of heavy metal thrown in 😀

Lovely. I’ve just been on a brisk walk through the Bavarian fields with Der fröhliche Wanderer!

hehehe! It’s a good thing the windows are closed because I walk around the house singing this song 😀

The gnomes sing quite well! And often frown when I sing. 🙂

Good for the gnomes! And here was me thinking a “Yule log” was chocolate sponge coated in thick chocolate 🙂

Yes, many people make that mistake 🙂

They just wood-n’t stop rolling that log! 😀 Maybe you can decorate it with holly, jingle bells etc. etc.?
Happy Christmukkah!! Ciao, Henri! ❤

They wood not! 😀 The Yule log is from the pagan Norse tradition and part of the celebration of Winter Solstice. The log burned for 12 days. No chocolate cake was involved. 😀

“The log burned for 12 days.” Ha, really? Like the Hanukkah oil burning 8 days? So… it’s actually the Hanukkah Solstice! No chocolate cake – aww! I’ll settle for sufganiot (jelly donuts) then! 😀

Who could resist serenading gnomes? Sweet of you to make them some hot cocoa! Such a fun post😄

Yes, they sing on-key. I’m afraid my siren song is generally off-key! I’ll use any excuse to make hot chocolate 😀
