The days are noticeably shorter and there is a chill in the night air in the Northern hemisphere. Some of the trees are beginning to don their Autumn colours as we approach the dark season of the year.
Alban Elfed is the second harvest festival of the year, occurring on the 21st or 22nd of September. The apple and grape harvests are celebrated. Vegetables, fruits and herbs are ready to be picked and preserved for the coming Winter.
A time for giving thanks! And also a time to evaluate the progress made on goals set earlier in the year. Did everything work out as planned? Wishing everyone a fruitful harvest!
For everyone in the Southern hemisphere, the days are getting longer, trees and plants are sprouting new leaves. And it’s time to start sowing seeds, begin new projects and make new plans. Wishing everyone a Happy Spring!
Beautiful trees! Autumn is my favourite season. I’m in the southern hemisphere, though, so that’s a while off for me. Spring is great though! Unfortunately the beauty of Spring comes with a certain sense of dread, however, as I am NOT a fan of Australian Summer! Anyway, thankyou for including both hemispheres in your post here. A lot of people don’t take into consideration the fact that their readers are from countries other than their own, so I appreciate that you do π Enjoy your magical Autumn!

I love Autumn as well! Also not a fan of Summer; unless I’m on a beach. π It’s so nice to meet people from all over the planet.

Isn’t nature wonderful, whatever season it is. We still have a bountiful supply of flowers to have beautiful posies dotted around the house. Despite the intense heat and drought Mother Nature prevailed!

Timely post what with it being the start of meteorological autumn (for us northerners) tomorrow. π

Is it me or is this a really weird autumn. Leaves are only just starting to turn to brown and there are both seeds and buds on the rhododendrons I just passed on the park. What’s it like up north?

The same. There are lots of wildflowers still blooming. And some wildflower seeds that I sprinkled in one part of the garden as an experiment started blooming last week.

Here are some things I know about you: you’re into nature, you’re a talented artist, you know your horoscopes, you love chocolate, you’re not averse to a side-hustle and you live in Scotland. Here’s what I don’t know about you: your formative experiences, your physicality, your attitudes towards literature and your level of interest in artificial intelligence. I have a blog about the experiences of a frog called Sklugoo. πΈ

I love autumn, but this year it hit pretty hard. Sunny and warm one day, and then boom crisp cool days with rain… Nice, but makes me long for summer a bit π

A new season is here. And it means different things to different people in different places. For people in India, though days are shorter like elsewhere in the northern hemisphere, the season of pleasant days, with a few cold nights thrown in, is here.
